In 2009 BC Food Banks use increased 15%; 18% across Canada.
High percentage of Children, Seniors and the Disabled rely on food banks.
2.4% of Canadians are assisted by a food bank each month, the most resent evidence shows that 8.8% of the population-2.7 million people will experience household food insecurity at some point during the year.
